Brimstone Welcomes John Uhrie as Vice President of Engineering

Brimstone has hired John Uhrie as the company’s Vice President of Engineering. John brings three decades of metallurgical expertise at major and startup mining companies alike.
After working for companies such as Freeport-McMoRan and Newmont Corporation, he served as COO of Energy Fuels Inc. and held executive positions at The Doe Run Company, RPMGlobal, and Jetti Resources. A professional engineer, he has operated and built plants on three continents, including scaling novel co-production processes.
Notably, he helped engineer and develop the $1B Tenke Fungurume co-production plant in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which co-produces copper and cobalt. John’s diverse background spans R&D, domestic and international operations, engineering, and commissioning across a wide range of metals. He also spent years supporting mine-finance due diligence for RPMGlobal, bringing valuable expertise in financing novel mining projects and processes. John’s extensive board experience will be a significant asset to Brimstone as we continue to grow.
