 Unlike traditional methods that use carbon-heavy limestone, which releases CO2 during processing, Brimstone starts with a different rock—calcium silicate—that contains no embedded CO2. This eliminates the majority of carbon emissions from the start. This process also produces magnesium-based materials that naturally absorb CO2 from the air, making it ultra-low carbon, or even carbon-negative, depending on the energy source.

Brimstone’s decarbonized cement meets all regulatory standards for ordinary portland cement (ASTM C150) and can be used anywhere conventional cement is used. As the only company making conventional cement without process emissions, Brimstone has cleared a viable pathway to eliminate the cement industry’s climate footprint.
