I went to San Diego for Comic Con this year (2003) and spent
part of the day Thursday visiting a friend of mine who is
currently a pilot for the Coast Guard. Shana
(the friend in question) was kind enough to give me a tour of
the Jayhawk she flies (think Blackhawk, but with extra fuel
tanks instead of missiles, oh and well, a different paint job),
and take a couple of photos of me in it.
We also got to see the USCGC
Haddock and toddle around the grounds of the base a wee bit.
Lovely place, great views. I can certainly think of worse
places to be stationed.
